Show Me Strong Pledge

Thank you for your interest in the tourism/hospitality section of the Show Me Strong Pledge. This program has been implemented to provide businesses with guidelines that will bolster consumer confidence and assist in reopening and resiliency efforts in the wake of COVID-19. Consumers play a vital role in these efforts, too — maintaining healthy communities is a shared responsibility!

The pledge centers on six concepts:

  1. Physical distancing guidelines
  2. Healthy hands
  3. Cleaning and sanitation standards
  4. Utilization of protective/safety equipment
  5. Asking guests to "self-screen" using a standard questionnaire
  6. Development of an in-house preparedness and response plan

Before taking the pledge, please familiarize yourself with the below resources.

Remember, this is an honor system. If you sign the pledge and post Show Me Strong Pledge signage at your business, it's up to you to ensure the guidelines are followed. The state of Missouri assumes no liability for businesses that take the Show Me Strong Pledge.

Please note, the below links spotlight guidelines, not mandates. They have been developed by health care and industry organizations, but your local municipality, health department or corporation may have more stringent requirements.

The Pledge

I hereby attest that my business will abide by the following to meet the guidelines of the Show Me Strong Pledge for tourism/hospitality businesses:

Physical distancing

In accordance with CDC recommendations, we will strongly encourage staff and guests to maintain six-feet of physical separation when possible.

Healthy hands

Hand sanitization stations may be available in common areas as needed and as supplies are available.

Cleaning and Sanitation

The standards recommended by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and Centers for Disease Control for cleaning and sanitation operations are being followed.

Equipment

To minimize direct contact, our employees are wearing face coverings when physical distancing guidelines cannot be practicably followed, and may utilize physical barriers as needed.

Self-Screening

A series of self-screening questions based on CDC guidelines is posted at points of entry.

Planning and Response

We have developed COVID-19 preparedness and response plans for the safety of our employees and customers. In addition, workers who exhibit COVID-19-like symptoms will not be allowed to report for duty.

Additionally, our business will post, at a minimum, information about good safety and hygiene practices (link below) in common spaces such as lobbies or waiting rooms, restrooms, hallways, elevators and other high-traffic areas. Self-screening guidelines based on common COVID-19 symptoms, as identified by the CDC (link below), also will be posted for our guests to consider before entering. Anyone with symptoms identified in those guidelines is asked to refrain from entering.

How You Can Help Self-Screening Guidelines
