A New User's Guide to the Industry Portal


Thank you for your interest in the Missouri Division of Tourism and VisitMO.com. This is a quick tutorial to walk through the steps you need to take to get listed on VisitMO.


Before you begin, note that our site works best with Web browsers such as Google Chrome and Firefox. If you're using Internet Explorer, some features/graphics may appear slightly different as they do on our preferred browsers. As such, you may consider downloading Firefox to work in the Industry Portal.

Now, let's get started:

• On the Industry Portal home page, you should have noticed the "Login" button in the upper right corner. Click that button and then, on the next page, click the register link. Complete the short form that follows. Keep track of your username and password for future reference.

• After you've registered, you'll see a new option, Manage My Listings and Events; click there to
add a new business or event.

• On the next screen, scroll down a bit (BELOW the large photo) and you'll see a set of Tabs, they show: Business, Events, Travel Guide, Coupons. To add a new business, stay on the Business tab and click on the add business box. A pop-up appears; you select the type of listing you want to add, then the category into which that listing falls.
If you want to add an event, click the Events tab, then click on the add an event box. We ask you submit your events at least 14 days prior to the event beginning.

• After you make your selections, the submission quick form appears in a pop-up format. You complete the form and click submit. After you click submit, a notice will appear if your business is eligible to appear in the printed Official Missouri Travel Guide. If you click OK, you will be redirected to the Travel-Guide-specific form needed to appear in the guide (note that events and some types of permanent businesses, such as restaurants, are not Travel Guide eligible).


• If you complete forms for an event, or a business that's not travel guide eligible, you'll see a notice inviting you to complete an enhanced listing form, which is where you can add extras such as photos and coupons.

• The enhanced form uses the same control panel as the previous incarnation of the Industry Portal. You'll see a series of tabs on the left side of your screen, with a listing "preview" on the right side of the screen. Use the tabs to navigate the different piece of information you want to update/edit, and remember to click save and continue after making changes. When you're finished making changes, hit the Submit This Listing button at the upper left, and you're done!

Back on the Manage My Listings page, you'll be able to see the status of your submissions (pending, approved, rejected, etc.). You also should receive an email confirming the listing's status within 72 to 96 hours.

If you run into technical difficulties during the submission process, send an email to ListingEditor@VisitMO.com, and someone from our staff will get back to you as soon as possible. Please note, if you send a request outside of normal business hours, or during weekends, it will be the next business day before someone replies.
